6th of July Celebrations - historical days in Fredericia
Join the yearly historical 6th of July Celebrations in Fredericia and feel the presence of history. At the 5th and 6th of July Fredericia is bringing out the big guns and you can experience a range of festivities like concerts, launching of the old cannons, guided tours, torchlight procession, processions and parades and meeting old soldiers from 1849 in the soldier camp placed on The Ramparts of Fredericia. The entire town is covered in flags, the local marching band of the town, The 6th of July Guard, are of course playing, and the stores in the city centre are open and packed with great offers. This year the 6th of July Celebrations continues until the 9th of July where the city centre will be filled with happy tunes from the 6th of July Jazz Festival 2022.
There's a lot to see and experience on the 5th and 6th of July, when the town of Fredericia celebrates the famous historical victory on the 6th of July 1849 in The Battle of Fredericia. Even in the days leading up to the big celebration, there are many activities to participate in: the International Landart Festival, the 6th of July Cup and guided tours for children every day from the 4th to the 7th of July, where the children learns about the local General Rye and gets to follow in his footsteps.
