Visit the two connected forests, Randal Forest and Nyskov Forest, and enjoy nature.

Nature Experiences in Fredericia: Randal Forest and Nyskov Forest

Randal Forest and Nyskov Forest are two connected forest areas located in the northern part of Fredericia. They are among Fredericia’s newer natural areas and were established in the 1980s to create a green buffer between industrial zones and residential neighborhoods. The landscape here is varied, with lakes, open green spaces with grazing animals, and denser forested areas. Several walking paths and trails make the area ideal for hiking, running, and enjoying nature.

Randal and Nyskov Forests also feature two small lakes where you can spot amphibians, birds, and ducks. In the largest lake, Randal Lake, you might be lucky enough to see the charming mandarin duck.

Enjoy the View or Visit the Dog Forest

Relax at the area’s benches and tables, or take in the view from Nyskov Forest’s observation tower, which offers a fantastic panorama of northern Fredericia and towards the city. On clear days, you can even see Skamlingsbanken, the highest point in Southern Jutland, looking southwest. You can also bring your dog to the popular dog park located in part of Randal Forest.

Information

  • Parking: The parking lot at Nyskov Forest is located opposite Nordre Ringvej 9. Parking for Randal Forest is at Søndre Kobbelvej 170.
