Christmas in the old fortress town is a magical time. Come and feel the special Christmas spirit in the straight streets of the fortress town, which are decorated with lights, flakes, straw bales, and Christmas trees.
Christmas Market 2023
Invite your family on a Christmas adventure and visit Fredericia's cozy Christmas Market, where you can buy Christmas decorations and treats, or enjoy æbleskiver (Danish Christmas pastries) and gløgg (hot mulled wine).
At the Christmas Market, you can also say hello to Santa Claus and enjoy festive Christmas music from street musicians. There will be choirs singing, and you can get into the true Christmas spirit with the enchanting street performers and Christmas characters who visit the fortress town.
You can also ride the charming little Christmas train around the city or hop on the horse-drawn carriage, which runs throughout December. During the Christmas month, you can also meet Fredericia's local residents from 1849, who are happy to share stories and anecdotes from the old fortress town.
