The Soldier’s Route - Fredericia’s new walking route on Fredericia Ramparts

The Soldier’s Route is Fredericia’s new circular walking route around Fredericia Ramparts. The route is approximately 5 km long and takes around one to one and a half hours to walk.

The route takes you all the way around the historic fortifications, combining nature, history and city life.

The Soldier’s Route takes you around Fredericia Ramparts, through the area’s lush natural surroundings and past some of Fredericia’s fascinating history.

Along the way, you will pass the ramparts’ beautiful and unique city gates, historic cannons and The White Water Tower, which offers fantastic views across the Little Belt.

A walk with a city beach and urban life: Østerstrand beach and The Canal District

As well as showcasing the best of Fredericia Ramparts, the route also takes you past Fredericia’s city beach Østerstrand, and through The Canal District, Fredericia’s new neighbourhood by the Little Belt.

There are cafés and shops within a short distance of every point along the route, if you fancy taking a break along the way

The Soldier’s Route is a circular route that starts and ends at the same place, so you can join the route wherever it suits you.

We recommend starting at The Valiant Soldier's Square, where The Valiant Soldier, Fredericia’s landmark, stands.

The nearest free parking to The Soldier’s Route is Norgesgade Nord, just a few minutes’ walk from The Valiant Soldier’s Square.
