The Cultural Barracks
The future meeting place for art, culture, and creative entrepreneurship.
The Cultural Barracks in Fredericia: Space for Creativity
At Fredericia's new cultural barracks, the focus is on creativity, development, and entrepreneurship!
The CulturL Barracks currently offers a wide range of different workspaces for all age groups. Everything from esports to local archives and Fredericia Musical Theater is represented in the old barracks.
From Bülow Barracks to the Cultural Barracks
When the Cultural Barracks was to be named, it was not difficult to find the right term. The cultural center is located in the old Bülow Barracks premises, which have now been converted and renovated to accommodate a variety of activities.
In addition to being spacious, with good facilities and a large barracks yard filled with opportunities, Bülow Barracks also has a unique location with a view of Lillebælt and Østerstrand.
Community dining, exhibitions, and open workshops
Today, the Cultural Barracks already houses several different activities for citizens and visitors in Fredericia. The goal is to create a new space for active communities for both young and old. For example, join community dining at the barracks, experience exhibitions, or participate in creative open workshops.

Fredericia Local History Archive and Fredericia Esport under one roof
The Cultural Barracks is a focal point that spans a wide range. In the old barracks premises, you will find both the Fredericia Local History Archive in completely renovated and updated premises with accompanying facilities for working with the exciting archive material.
The barracks buildings are also home to the local e-sports association Fredericia Esport, which hosts events, tournaments, and training sessions for the club's members and e-sports enthusiasts.
A hub for Performing Arts: Fredericia Musical Theater, Theater Malstrøm, and Eksercerhuset
One of the creative elements that fills the Cultural Barracks is performing arts, theater, and music. With the status of "Denmark's Musical City," home to the Danish Musical Academy, and with a thriving theater and music scene, it is natural that the Cultural Barracks houses several rehearsal rooms, storage, and workshops for the city's theaters.
Both Fredericia Musical Theater and the local Theater Malstrøm use the buildings, and the barracks' old drill hall is now converted into one of the city's major venues, Eksercerhuset.
Bülow's Makerspace
Bülow's Makerspace is Fredericia's very own entrepreneur hub for young people of all ages. Here, children and young people can try their hand at 3D printers and other forms of technology and production processes at weekly open workshops, pursue entrepreneurship as a hobby, and participate in many different events and workshops.
Bülow's Makerspace also collaborates with Fredericia's institutions and schools to educate the city's young people in technology understanding, production, and entrepreneurship.
