Go fishing at Kongsted Lakes and Spang Stream

In the area around Elbodalen Valley, there are several excellent fishing spots, perfect for your next fishing trip. The lakes and stream are set in a scenic natural area with abundant wildlife, and there are various fish species in the lakes and stream for you to try to catch!

Catch freshwater fish and trout

If you want to fish in Kongsted Lakes, you can fish in the five lakes located in the northwestern part of Spang Stream. Here, you can catch different freshwater species such as perch, pike, roach, bream, and other typical Danish freshwater fish.

For stream fishing, you can fish along the 500-meter stretch of Spang Stream near the bridge at Kongsvej–Engvej. Here, you can catch brook trout and sea trout. From the bridge at Kongsted Engvej, fishing is allowed 200 meters upstream and 300 meters downstream.

Practical information and rules

Fishing restrictions: Fishing is not allowed 200 meters north and 300 meters south of the bridge at Kongsted Engvej over Spang Stream from 16 October to 15 April.

Public access: The lakes are part of a water supply area near Kongsted Waterworks, owned by EWII A/S, which grants public access for fishing.

Note: Some summers, the lakes may have heavy algae growth or duckweed, which can make fishing difficult.

Kongsted Lakes and Spang Stream are part of the scenic Elbodalen Valley, where you can enjoy forest and meadow landscapes. Spang Stream continues to Rands Fjord, where you can see the large sea eagles that nest in the area.
