Erritsø and Sanddal Beach - a peaceful bathing spot near Fredericia

Looking for a quiet and scenic beach near Fredericia? Erritsø and Sanddal Beach is a peaceful stretch of coastline southwest of the city, where you can breathe deeply, enjoy the view over Little Belt, and fully unwind from the crowds.

Nature and views over Little Belt

The beach is located approx. 4 km southwest of Fredericia city centre and stretches over 1 km along the coast at Sanddal and Erritsø, with southeast-facing views over Little Belt. Here, you’ll find a sense of calm and open coastal landscape that is hard to find closer to the city.

The bathing water is classified as excellent - the highest quality a bathing site can achieve - so you can safely take a dip in the waves.

The area is part of Naturpark Lillebælt, one of Denmark’s marine nature parks, and the scenic surroundings make the beach perfect for combining a beach day with a nature experience. Nearby, you’ll also find the connected natural areas of Erritsø Marsh, Fuglsang Forest, and Hannerup Forest - ideal if you want to extend your trip with a refreshing walk in the woods.

Facilities and parking at Erritsø and Sanddal Beach

The beach is relatively narrow, with around 5 metres of sandy shoreline, and is equipped with tables and benches, a lifebuoy, and waste bins. Access to the beach is available, among other places, via Krügersvej. Please note that there is no direct parking at the beach.

It’s also not far from the beach to Marina Fredericia, one of the city’s best marinas and motorhome sites.
